Cradle Song

Sleep, sleep, beauty bright,
Dreaming in the joys of night;
Sleep, sleep; in thy sleep
Little sorrows sit and weep.

Sweet babe, in thy face
Soft desires I can trace,
Secret joys and secret smiles,
Little pretty infant wiles.

As thy softest limbs I feel,
Smiles as of the morning steal
O'er thy cheek, and o'er thy breast
Where thy little heart doth rest.

O the cunning wiles that creep
In thy little heart asleep!
When thy little heart doth wake,
Then the dreadful night shall break.

**lol** Thank you! He loves pretending he's a dog. He'd sleep with them if we let him!

That i so funny Sturla pretends a lot to be a dog he just recently stopped trying to lick my face every now and then... had his tongue hanging out all the time.

The Don loves barking, and he crawls around everywhere. Now his little sister follows him as well. I used to have to keep a really close eye on him so he wouldn't drink out of the water bowl. Now we keep the bowls up and let the dogs drink every couple of hours. I think Sturla and The Don would be funny together. :)

Adorable!! Pretend play is HUGE, my dear!! I'm glad you're keeping the water dish up (yuck!) but soooo cool that he is doing that on his own. We had a whole ABA program for T to learn how to pretend he was an animal, so Yay for the DON!!! :)

That is too frigging cute!! Your dog looks more like a horse though!

I agree with all the above comments: it is an adorable scene and the dog is more like a horse than a dog. But let's give some credit (and sympathy) to the dainty chihuahua on the right, and empathise with his probable feelings of sadness for being ingored and the odd one out!

Thank you everyone!!

Karen, he started trying to teach Betty how to drink from the water bowls or puddles outside. Imagine my horror!!

Flannery, that's just what I've been saying since she was a pup! Back then I'd say that it was like having a small pony in the house!

Ixialiliz, yes, yes, we all love the scavenger dog!

Lizbeth, thank you so much!! I know I'm his mama, but what can I say?? I have to agree!! **lol**

The Clod and the Pebble

"Love seeketh not itself to please,
Nor for itself hath any care,
But for another gives its ease,
And builds a heaven in hell's despair."

So sung a little Clod of Clay,
Trodden with the cattle's feet,
But a Pebble of the brook
Warbled out these metres meet:

"Love seeketh only Self to please,
To bind another to its delight,
Joys in another's loss of ease,
And builds a hell in heaven's despite."
